Crayon Melt Suncatcher/Window Decoration

Obtain old crayons of many different colors.  Twist the crayons in a small handheld pencil sharpener to make shavings.  Spread shavings on a sheet of wax paper and if desired, add small pieces of colored paper and/or ribbon, and/or embroidery thread to assist with your pattern.  Then, place another sheet of wax paper on top and cover your “sandwich” with a towel.  WITH AN ADULT’S HELP, iron it on a low setting until the crayon shavings are melted.  Remove the towel and use a hot pad or oven mit to smooth over the waxed paper spreading and mixing the colors together as much as desired.  After it has cooled, cut the waxed paper into a flower, star, or any shape you wish.  Using any materials (lace, construction paper, felt, feathers, etc.) add a border or frame creating a sparkling suncatcher or window decoration.  Must have a hanger.  Completed size not to exceed 6” x 6”.
